Term 2 Week 9 behind us...

Only one more week of Term 2!
Great to see the sun again and enjoy the fresh air!

The Ext(reme) writers are working towards the final drafts of their Slam Poems - it has been an interesting challenge to rework a piece based on the way it sounds when read aloud.  We have a few Prince EAs in the making...

In Manawanui, Science Fair and Mathletes, it was great to reconnect with each other and review the last 3 weeks' learning while Mrs Dunn was on leave.  Mathletes from Teams 3, 4 & 5 are nearing the end of their Geometry learning with discovery of trigonometry to problem-solve,  Team 2 are completing their final assessment of new Number learning, and Team 1, the same with Statistics.

Tournament of Minds students were introduced to planners for next term when they 'go it alone'.  Each team set up Trello, an online project management tool, and a overview plan for the 6 weeks of tournament preparation.  There will be a parent meeting in Week 1 next term to pass on more detailed information to whanau.

Ext(reme) Reading students are showcasing their talents as they dig deep into the written words of talented authors.  Mrs Stanley can't stop raving about the insights of the group and their ability to communicate their findings. 😊

Coming up next week: Disco on Thursday
